Frequently asked questions

Why is your buttercream sooooo good??

Buttercream should be just that: BUTTER. And to sweeten the pie, or cake, for that matter, I only use real butter without added hormones or antibiotics.

What do you use to decorate your cakes?

The majority of cakes are iced with buttercream and decorated with fondant details. Icing sheets and an edible ink printer may also be used in instances where patterns or intricate details are needed. Edible wafer paper is also sometimes used to create depth and variety when mixed with sugar flowers in floral arrangements on wedding cakes.

Do you freeze your cakes?

Nope. Some people believe that by freezing a cake and thawing before icing, it can help to add moisture. This isn't a technique that has been mastered in my kitchen, so my cakes are baked fresh for each order.

I'd like to taste a few items before I decide. Do you offer free samples?

No free samples, but cake tastings will be made available every four to six weeks during busy seasons.

Do we have to set up a formal, sit-down consultation?

No. Life is crazy! It's often difficult to get schedules to align. I cater to busy brides who have a good idea of what they're looking for in a wedding cake. If you know how many people you need to serve and a general idea of what you want your wedding cake to look like, leave the rest to me. If you prefer to sit down and talk, appointments may be scheduled for $45.

Do you have a minimum order for weddings?

Yes. Since I am only accepting a limited number of orders, a $500 minimum is required to book.

Do you offer special dietary options, such as gluten-free, nut-free, or dairy-free?

Are are your wedding cakes priced by the slice?

Wedding cakes are priced by the slice, which start at $5.00 per slice, and can go up from there depending the shape of the cake and the intricacy of the design.

How early should I book my wedding cake?

Ideally, about six months in advance is usually enough time. Wedding dates in April, May, June, and October book up first.

Is there more information available about the booking process? What is your cancellation policy? Do you have references? There's so much to ask! Ahhhh!!!
