There haven't been a ton of cakes coming out of this kitchen lately, but there has been an overwhelming amount of business going on in the background. Between wedding cake tastings, quotes and bookings, and supply shopping, the HoneyLove business is moving right along. April is going to be a CRAZY month! Two weddings, a few party cakes, and three classes to teach will certainly keep me on my toes.
I keep reminding myself to be patient when I see empty retail spaces. I usually drive around to the back to check it out in its entirety, and then try to imagine setting up shop. I haven't found one, yet, that I've fallen in love with the way I did last time. But I know I'll find it when the time is right; and this time I'll be ready. <3
This week's cake celebrates a 27th birthday with a Copenhagen style cake. Oh, boys will be boys, won't they? Hehe! I love how it turned out. It's an 8" 2-layer marble cake covered in buttercream. I printed the details onto icing sheets with my new edible ink printer.
Have you found HoneyLove on Instagram, yet? I like to post little behind-the-scenes kitchen action when I'm doing whatever it is that I do. Sometimes it's even more active than Facebook. ;) Just look for @HoneyLoveCakery wherever you go. I just might be there.
The sun and I had a date today, but it looks like I've been stood up again. Oh, Sun, you fickle friend. And winter had to make one more appearance as if not to be kicked out too easily. *sigh* That's okay, though. My garden WILL see its day!!! It just may have to wait until tomorrow.
Until later, my friends. Xoxo
